He's had projects premiere at film festivals like Sundance, Tribeca, Seattle, Austin, Mountainfilm, Palm Springs, and HollyShorts — where his latest project won “Best Shot on 16mm Film.”

He produced and edited the feature-length documentary CLEAN SLATE, which was a film festival favorite, about a group of guys in a residential treatment facility who managed to do the impossible: Make a professionally-produced short film about their addiction and recovery story, have it premiere in an actual film festival, and then go on to be seen by thousands of people around the world!
3-Day Course Outline

DAY 1 - Introduction to Storytelling & Script Development
​
Overview of filmmaking basics and analysis of how storytelling can have a powerful impact on an individual's understanding of their personal alcohol and substance misuse challenges, and how best to overcome them in order to succeed in long-term recovery
Discuss story structures and their role in crafting compelling narratives
Guide participants through brainstorming and developing their own scripts based on personal experiences and themes related to their recovery
Organize into groups and facilitate feedback sessions; refine scripts in collaborative sessions
DAY 2 - Pre-Production Planning & Skills Workshop
Teach essential pre-production tasks such as creating storyboards, shot lists and planning logistics
Form production teams and assign key roles like director, writer, camera operator, sound mixer, etc.
Conduct hands-on workshops to learn technical basics on camera operation, lighting, and sound recording to be able to capture high-quality audio and video
DAY 3 - Filming, Editing & Post-production
Support participants in filming their scenes according to their scripts and production plans, emphasizing collaboration, and problem-solving during the filming process
Introduce basic editing techniques and software for assembling footage
Guide participants through the editing process, including cutting, sound design, and music

WRAP UP PREMIERE EVENT
Host a screening session where all participants showcase their completed movies
Facilitate a discussion and provide constructive feedback on each film
Reflect on the filmmaking experience and its impact on personal growth and recovery
Discuss ways to continue using filmmaking skills / creativity in personal projects or future endeavors
